The same week, AVC-Rwanda celebrated another milestone with 10 young girls who recently completed a tailoring training program organized through our skills-development initiative. After months of dedication, learning the fundamentals of sewing, garment-making, and small-business basics, each of the 10 graduates received her own sewing machine to take home. The handover was a joyful moment, marking the transition from learning to earning for these young women.
The sewing machines are more than just equipment — they are a chance for these girls to stand on their own feet. Many of them come from backgrounds where opportunities have been limited, and access to a trade can change the entire direction of their lives. With these machines, they can begin offering tailoring services in their communities, generate their own income, and contribute to their families. AVC-Rwanda's hope is that this is only the beginning of their journey, and we will continue to walk with them as they grow their work.
